My Story

Hi, I’m Ali! I am a New Testament scholar working and teaching on the lands of the Burramattagal people of the Dharug nation, traditional custodians of the area now known as Parramatta, Australia. I work at United Theological College which is part of the School of Theology at Charles Sturt University.

My work looks at early Christian communities in their historical context, women in the New Testament, Jude and the General Epistles, Second Temple Judaism, the Gospels, ancient rhetoric, rituals and community practices. On this site you can find links to my research papers, sermons, and podcasts, as well as some shorter pieces where I reflect on various biblical passages and theological ideas. There is also a resource section where I direct you to sources I have found profoundly helpful in my own work.

Happy reading.
